REIKI AFTER CARE
Much like following a massage, you are encouraged to rest and hydrate. Listen to your body. Nourish yourself as you see fit. Light some candles, indulge in essential oils or have a meal full of vibrant colors. I personally like to recommend an epsom salt bath or foot soak the night following your session, as well as avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours.
You will most likely experience feelings of lightness, ease, or extreme calm. Or you may feel nothing at all. It is possible you may experience physical symptoms such as headache, nausea or fatigue. Occasionally, pains or discomfort you had prior to your session will intensify briefly before releasing. These experiences are usually signs that your body is detoxifying as it moves through the healing process. However, if your symptoms persist for many days, they may NOT be related to your Reiki session and may require a chat with your healthcare provider.
EMOTION CODE AFTER CARE
Like with any other healing session; listen to your body, relax, breathe, and don’t over exert your energy. Drink LOTS of water, try to get some extra sleep, and simply be gentle with yourself. Releasing stuck emotions is a simple process, but can still be tiring for your mind and body.
The body needs a few days to process trapped emotions after they are released. During this time you may feel some side-effects of processing the emotions that were released during your session. Most of the time, processing is pretty mild and isn’t really noticed. You’ll usually feel lighter, and less anxiety or stress. Other times it is possible for you to feel some negative symptoms from processing. You may feel some echoes of the emotions that were released, or you may feel tired, out of sorts emotionally, or you may cry or even feel sick. The unpleasant effects don’t typically last for more than a day or two and they are usually very mild. And again, if your symptoms persist for many days, they may NOT be related to your session and may require a chat with your healthcare provider.
